Jamisen Johnson, Small-Format District Manager at Columbia Distributing,

Columbia Distributing celebrates Jamisen Johnson and all he has accomplished with our company over the last 11 years. As our small-format district manager, Johnson plays an important role in our organization. He ensures reps from brands are satisfied and organizes non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverage distribution across all locations we serve in Oregon and Washington.

About Jamisen Johnson

Jamison Johnson has worked for Columbia Distributing for 11 years. Before us, Johnson worked at Pepsi in Tacoma, Washington, for nine years. Johnson chose Columbia Distributing because we care about our workers, the worker experience, and the community we serve.

“I don’t feel like an employee number at Columbia Distributing. My name is usually spelled correctly, and people genuinely care,” Johnson says. “I also believe that Columbia Distributing gives back what you put into it. It’s extremely rewarding if you put forth effort.”

He also mentions that flexibility in his career rewards him in terms of his family. Johnson finds that Columbia Distributing fits his family’s needs through flexible scheduling, fair compensation, and overall job satisfaction.

Jamisen Johnson’s Day as Small-Format District Manager

Jamisen Johnson does “a little bit of everything” around Columbia Distributing. As a small-format district manager, Johnson’s role is to ensure all locations, including our Kent and Everett, Washington, and Portland, Oregon locations, are running as they should. To start his day, he completes administrative work. Then, Johnson checks in with the reps and goes to resets if needed. He also does surveys around the workplace.

A large part of Johnson’s role at Columbia Distributing involves ensuring reps have what they need and addressing rep concerns. That’s why the rest of his day consists of checking in with reps and speaking with them about their needs and the type of support they need. Johnson follows up on any communications at the end of his workday.

Working With Columbia Distributing

Johnson found that learning the trade at Columbia Distributing was easy because he is surrounded by a seasoned, veteran team. He recalls training for the position and how instrumental the team was in helping him figure out specific Columbia Distributing processes. This is something that Columbia Distributing values – teamwork and inclusivity.

“They know they need each individual’s opinions and ideas to achieve the company’s goal. This attitude creates a level of inclusiveness that can be felt by most employees,” Johnson states.

When asked if he had any advice for aspiring Columbia Distributing employees, Johnson says, “Work hard, be open to change, enjoy yourself. We sell fun.”
