Columbia Distributing is proud to be an integral part of the Pacific Northwest bar and restaurant industry. As a distributor of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, we have earned an excellent reputation for meeting the needs of our clients. This reputation is in part due to the efforts of passionate, hard-working individuals like Peter Jones. He has worked with Columbia Distributing for two and a half years, bringing high-quality goods and beverages to the venues that serve them.

What Does an On-Premise Sales Representative Do?
Jones currently holds the title of on-premise sales representative in Spokane. “I work with buyers to inform them of products that best fit their business model,” says Jones. His role involves working with a wide variety of locations, from taphouses specializing in local craft beers to high-end cocktail bars that maintain extensive spirits selections. Each business model caters to a particular clientele with unique preferences. It is Jones’ job to help meet these preferences and keep customers satisfied.
“I love the bar and restaurant industry,” Jones adds. “Being able to immerse myself and participate in its development in Spokane is very rewarding.” In his role at Columbia Distributing, Jones is more than a salesman; he’s part of a growing and thriving community.
Columbia Distributing carries a large line of high-quality products from bestselling brands. With a wide selection to choose from, Jones feels he is able to truly help his clients find the products they are looking for. The opportunity to give excellent service is its own reward, which pays back in the form of appreciation and loyalty from the businesses he works with.
Team Culture and Cooperation
The bar and restaurant industry is not the only place Jones can feel truly immersed. He also speaks highly of the company culture at Columbia Distributing, praising our emphasis on cooperation. This emphasis is essential to the effectiveness of our employees and our success as a distributor.
“I’ve worked for companies where culture is a by-product … but often not a focus,” he says. This is not the case at Columbia Distributing. We devote a large amount of thought, planning, and energy to nurturing an encouraging company culture that helps new employees feel comfortable in their roles. When speaking about the training process, Jones notes his trainer provided excellent groundwork and supported him while he learned his new role.
This emphasis on company culture also facilitates seamless cooperation between team members. The Culture Committee facilitates building relationships throughout the company, helping individuals learn more about our big-picture operations. Open lines of communication, meanwhile, keep employees connected and informed, so nobody’s left out of the loop.
