Joel Gott Wines is known for creating expressive wines sourced from high-quality ingredients. However, the brand’s mission goes beyond satisfying tastebuds. Its Gott for Good partnership with Feeding America demonstrates the company’s commitment to giving back and helping put an end to food insecurity in the United States.
Feeding America: An America Where No One Is Hungry
Hunger is a complex issue. Nutritious food is necessary for survival and all deserve access tohealthy meals. . Unfortunately, that’s not the current reality. Approximately 47 million people in the U.S. are food insecure, meaning they don’t know where their next meal will come from. This year, one in 10 individuals, including one in eight children, will struggle with food insecurity.
Feeding America is a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries, and local meal programs. It is the largest charity working to end hunger in the U.S. The organization aims to help people get the food and resources they need to thrive.
Taking a multi-angle approach, Feeding America’s work involves improving access to nutritious food, expanding economic security, and advocating for policies that make it easier for people to get the food they need.
Feeding America is helping to create a future where no one is hungry with the following steps:
- Rescuing food: Feeding America works with the food industry to source food that would otherwise go to waste.
- Storing food: Feeding America’s network food banks collect, store, and distribute food to local pantries and meal programs.
- Distributing food: The network’s food pantries and meal programs distribute food to their communities.
