About Corene Gehrig
Originally, Corene Gehrig was hired for a different position at Columbia Distributing but soon moved to her role as a Claims Specialist. As a Claims Specialist, Gehrig works with various employees in departments of all levels.
Gehrig enjoys working for Columbia Distributing because the company encourages employees to explore different learning opportunities. The company cares about its employees’ professional development. Gehrig is always learning to stay updated on both state and federal laws and grow as the position evolves.
A Day in the Life of Corene Gehrig
“I usually start my day with a quick email check when I first get up to make sure our night team didn’t have any urgent requests come through overnight,” Gehrig says about her daily routine.
Gehrig then arrives at the Columbia Distributing office between 7:30 and 8 a.m. She begins her workday by checking on employees and supervisors with workers’ compensation claims. She answers questions about these claims and resolves them.
Gehrig also handles auto and general liability claims for Columbia Distributing, collaborating with repair shops, claimants, and insurance companies. She works diligently to ensure claims are processed and paid as timely as possible. She handles claims with respect and empathy.
Gehrig’s typical day consists of many phone calls, emails, and team calls, all of which must run smoothly to maintain day-to-day operations.
