Bull Run Cider produces craft hard cider at the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range in Forest Grove, Oregon. In making all of our ciders we begin with the apple as we believe this is the starting point for making the finest cider.
We craft our ciders from great cider apples that we grow on our orchard in sunny East Wenatchee, WA. Our incredible region gives our trees the ideal conditions to grow apples packed with the flavors necessary to produce fine ciders. Hot sunny summers and cold snowy winters result in apples that mature with incredible aromatics and delicious flavors. When ripened to perfection, we pick these apples and craft them with the utmost care into fine cider blends, resulting in rich ciders full of delicious complexity.
Deep in the very heart of the Cascade Mountain Range, legend has it that there is a hidden mountain with an enchanted orchard, where the climate is ideal for growing the world’s finest apples and pears. For centuries, the inhabitants of this magical place known as Spire Mountain, have spent their days doing nothing but nurturing the fruit on the trees, and making the best cider on earth. Is it any wonder that Spire Mountain Cider is the oldest premium cider brand in America? The next time you order a cider, ask for the one made in the enchanted orchard on Spire Mountain!
The story starts in 1923, when Louis Raison’s father began to craft his own cidre to perpetuate the French secular tradition of cidre-making. In 1934, at the age of 14, son Louis started his apprenticeship and learned the secrets of cidre-making from his father. In 1945, immediately following the war, Louis succeeded his father at the head of the company. He was the very first cidre master to bottle and popularize cidre across France.
Louis Raison has since become the market leader in France and has spread all around the world, thanks to the passion and dedication of every worker in the cider house.
