Thanks to United Way’s Hands On Greater Portland volunteer program, Columbia Distributing is pleased to continue its charitable work and stay true to its vision and values.

As part of Community Impact Week, Jason Beam, Director of Sales at Columbia Distributing, and members of his team based in Wilsonville, OR, volunteered their time at The Kindness Farm. This nonprofit farm has a mission to cultivate equitable access to healthy produce, provide education on growing food, care for land using regenerative agriculture, and foster a vibrant community. Studies show that more and more American workers value a workplace that makes meaningful efforts toward greater diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). According to a report from Pew Research Center, 56% of employed adults in the United States believe increasing DEI in work environments is beneficial.

Since its founding in 1935, Columbia Distributing has been committed to providing clients throughout Oregon and Washington with some of the leading brands in the beverage business. The company has been through a lot of changes. In 2008, Columbia Distributing, Mt. Hood Beverage, and Gold River Distributing merged to form Columbia Distributing as it stands today. In 2018, the company acquired General Distributors, Inc., and Marine View Beverage. With an extensive selection of domestic and craft beer, wine, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages, Columbia Distributing is the go-to choice for businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest.

One employee who has been steadfast through all these changes is Dusty Auxier. As the delivery director for Columbia Distributing’s site in Canby, Oregon, Auxier has been with the company for 28 years. The earliest brewers began using the ingredient to balance out the sweetness of barley, wheat, or oat-based beers.
